OVERVIEW:
The Queeramics Symposium, held October 9-11, 2019, drew together members of both the queer and ceramics communities to examine issues of identity, culture and theory within each. The event, held at LSU, was the first of its kind and has since grown into a larger social entity that continues to expand.

I was tasked with creating an identity, brand system, and collateral for the first ever Queeramics Symposium. My goal was to create an identity that could live beyond this one specific symposium; something that was adaptable and exciting. I designed the letterforms to function as semi-abstract vessels, referencing the symposium’s ceramics focus, while allowing for a sense of exploration, uniqueness, and creativity that is so defining of the LGBTQ+ community.
